First-grade Fixtures for To-morrow. THE FIFTH SERIES. The fifth series of matches in the first-grade cricket competition com- j mences to-morrow, the fixtures being:— . - Riccarton (19 championship points) 1 v. St Albans (10), at Hagley Park 1 No. 1. ' i Lancaster Park (16) v. West Christ- * church (10), at Lancaster Park. Sj-denham (16) v. Old Boys (4), at Sydenham Park. Old Collegians (12) v. East Christchurch (11), at Rugby Park. Riccarton, whose bowling has been the best of the club attacks this season, and who have reached the lead in the competition on that account, should gain another win in this series, as the St Albans side has not been convincing. St Albans have good ma. terial, but somehow the side has not struck convincing form vet. St Albans, if they tighten up their fielding, should have a chance, but dropped catches against Stringer, Jacobs and company will spell disaster. The teams are:— Riccarton—S. Andrews, H. Blackwell, I. Bolton, G. Bull, D. Dunnett, L Hooper, L. Fairbairn, J. Jacobs, J. Powell. A. W. Roberts. G. H. Stringer. St Albans—Birch, Burtt, Crawford. Cummings. Dallev, Lindlev, O’Brien Park, Rankin, Tucker, Walter. West Christchurch cannot be given a s good a chance against Lancaster Park £fter their disastrous showing- against Sydenham last Saturday. However, J. “• Kerr is with the side ag-ain, and if he has had enough practice to gain form his presence will make a difference. There is bound to be a good number of spectators, in case Cromb gets going: as he did last week. The teams are: Lancaster Park—l. B. Cromb. S. Yates, F. Kerr. T. Kennedy. R. Read. G. Dryden, B. Hawkings, A. Cobden, T. Evans, D. Stout, D. Dawson. West Christchurch—Allen, Brown, Burton, Findlay, Gregory, Hayes, Kerr, Patrick, Peake, Smith, Vincent. Sydenham, on performances, should heat Old Boys, but Old Boys are another side with good material which is due to “produce the goods” at any time and there will be no knowing the result till the numbers go up. Sydenham, however,, have strong batting, and in the field are hard to overcome by virtue of their keenness, if -nothing else. The teams are: Sydenham—Bellamy, Butterfield, Gas. son. Gray, Hamilton, King, M’Rae, Oliver, Patrick, Spong, Wallburton. Old Boys—Burns, Colville, Cook, Eseott, Fisher, Graham, Hadlee, Leonard, M’Ewen, Moffat. Page. H i'l •» Collegians, with a good win recently to give them incentive, should be too much for East Christchurch, on performance. Neither side has anything special in the bowling line, and the scoring should be heavy. The teams are: Collegians—Dunster, Walter, Smyth, Ollivier, Lester, Jackman, Talbot, Denham, Cottrell, Graham, Gibson. East Christchurch—C. Mortlock, K. Wilson, H. Davis, P. Allsopp, S. V. Ellis, A. F. Ellis. E. Brosnahan, D. Quald, C. H. M’Phall, F. Kinvig, A. MarMatches Transferred. The following matches have been transferred:— Junior C—Railway v. Stewart’s Gully, to Waltham No 1. Third Grade C (first day)—Working Men’s Club v. Beckenham, to Sydenham No. 8 (W.M.C. to supply stumps). Friendly Match. In a friendly cricket match Domains Board defeated Blue Star Taxis by 3 runs.
