A BRIGHT COMEDY.

Clifford Mollison Has Lead in “Freedom of the Seas.”

“ Strike Me Lucky ” and “ Bulldog Drummond Strikes Back ” will be shown finally to-morrow night at the Theatre Royal. Madame Elsa Stralia, the famous prima donna, appears on the stage and sings a bracket of popular songs. A particularly bright comedy, entitled “ Freedom of the Seas,” is booked for presentation at tte Theatre Royal on Saturday. There is plenty of romance and exciting adventure to hold the humgur together. The story is about a mild and bashful clerk in the city who is in love with his manager’s daughter. The lady is decidedly aloof while the clerk, played by Clifford Mollison, remains in his office while others are going to the war. When Mollison becomes commissioned in the Navy the adventure starts, and the transformation of his character to that of an efficient and strong-minded officer is splendidly done, giving in the one film two different character interpretations by the one man. Wendy Barrie is suitably haughty when necessary, gay and laughing when the occasion demands, and full of good sense and forgiveness as the film reaches the dramatic climax in which Mollison saves the lives of all aboard the ship. She is a most attractive actress, and handles a role of varying moods with excellent restraint but with no lack of vim. Ogg. of the “ Middle Wafch,” has in this picture been promoted to the rank of captain, and an amusing one he is. To help the excitement along, there is a deep dyed villain aboard who threatens the wireless man into sending messages to enemy U-boats. Box plans at the D.I.C.
