BIBLE CHANGES.
Proposals of General Synod Approved. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, December 3. Approval of the proposals contained in the resolution of the General Synod for the adoption of the formal for the authorised version of the Bible as being more in keeping with the best modern book production was expressed in an interview to-night by the noted Biblical translator and scholar, Professor James Moffatt. This change, he considered not only common sense, but urgently needed. He cjuite agreed that a more suitable colour could be substituted for the present black cover, and he also approved of the Apocrypha being more generally included in the various editions. Suggestions made by the Synod, including the abolition of double columns, printing of poetry as poetry, and dialogue as dialogue, also appealed to the professor. One really doubtful proposal, in his view, was that the Bible be arranged in chronological sequence. He did not think it practicable even in the New Testament, though he agreed it would be useful if it could be suggested that Revelation was not the last word in the New Testament.
