British Farmer’s Position Pointed Out. (Received December 4, 2.25 p.m.) LONDON, December 3. In the House of Commons, Major Walter Elliot, in reply to Air George Lambert, said that though the prices of fat store cattle were still low, the Home farmer, including the subsidy, was receiving an average of 45s 5d per hundredweight for first quality fats and 36s 8d for seconds, compared with 38s 4d and 33s 2d last year. Undertakings respecting imported beef under the Ottawa Agreement would expire in August, 1937, and with the Argentine in November. 1936.
