Moderate Turnover at Call To-day. MARKETS FIRM. Recorded dealings on call this morning were restricted to a few stocks in which there was a moderate turnover. In the gold mining section there was an isolated sale. Xew Zealand 4 per cent stock, due 1946-49, changed hands at £lO7 10s. buyers staying in at that price, sellers at £IOB 10s; the 1946-49 bonds had dealings at £lO7 15s and late unsupported sellers asked £IOB 10s. C ommercial of Australia were easier with sellers and business at 15s lOd, buyers at 15s 9d. Bank of New Zealand, cum dividend, changed hands at 4Ss 3d and there were further sellers at that price, buyers at 48s 2d. New Zealand Refrigerating fully paid were firmer with buyers and business at 20s 3d. sellers at 20s 4d; the 10s paid moved up a point to 10s and more were offered at that price, buvers at 9s lid. New Zealand Breweries, cum dividend. had dealings at 49s sd, 49s 4d and 49s 3d, market closing 49s 2d buyers, 49s 4d sellers. Staples were firmer on buyers’ offers 31s. Anthony Ilordern remained unaltered at 17s 7d, market closing 17s 6d buyers, 17s 9d sellers. Beath and Company were steady at 32s 6d. British Tobaccos were firm with dealings a t42s 9d and 42s 8d and further sellers at the lower price, buyers at 42s 6d. Colonial Sugars were firmer on buyers’ offers £4l 15s. Buyers of Mossy Creek raised their bids to Is lid, sellers at 2s Id. Rawang Tin were firmer on buj'ers’ offers 8s lid. Skippers remained unaltered with sellers and business at S-Id, buyers at 7id. Among unlisted stocks, Woolworths (Sydney) ordinary advanced to 78s and more were offered at that figure, buyers at 77s 6d. SALES COMPLETED. Bank of Xew Zealand were stable with a sale at 4Ss Gd. leaving the market between 4Ss 3d and 48s 9d. but Xew Zealand Insurance seemed weaker with sellers at 68s 6d and no buyers. The insurance section as a whole was quiet, the only*inquiry being for South British at 945. Colonial Sugars were very firm and buyers moved up to £4l. but holders were 30s above that.
