CUMBERSOME GARMENTS.
Signs of Reaction on Part of Men. Sir Herbert Morgan, addressing the Leicester Publicity Club the other day, said: “ So much genius and skill have been utilised in the clothing of women that to-day it is possible for them to dress more attractively, with greater variety, with greater comfort, than at any period during the last fifty years. “ I am fairly satisfied myself that there is scope for a whole range of ideas in men’s clothing in almost everything they wear. “ Why man, presumably the hardier animal, should require more covering and heavier clothing than woman has yet to be explained to me. I am sure there, is no evidence of increased mortality among women or that their general health has been affected by the practical, sensible clothing which they adopt. “ There are signs of a healthy reaction on the. part of men, and the first to take advantage of these signs will reap the harvest. “ There are millions spent on women’s cosmetics—no one has evolved a satisfactory method of removing tobacco stains from a man’s fingers.”
