AUNT HILDA’S LETTER.

“TREASURE BOX” TREASURES. Starlets’ Annual Goodwill Display. JQEAR STARLETS,— Here s the gladdest news to-night! Commencing next Wednesday and continuing till the end of the week, your little goodwill gifts will be displayed in the window of “ The Treasure Box,” lingerie and gown specialists, in Colombo Street, a little north of Gloucester Street corner. We are extremely grateful to “ The Treasure Box” for allowing us to use their windows at a time when the Christmas rush is setting in. Now I want every one of you to go along and see our thrift exhibition, for we have just used up scraps that were going to waste anyway. Old and odd stockings, tins, pictures, second-hand wool, old buttons have all been requisitioned, and I am ever so proud of your splendid efforts. We have had no organised centre of activity this year, for Aunt Hilda believed that the lessons taught in the past few years had been absorbed by our child readers, and this effort has proved I was right. I know that every single gift has been made and given in a spontaneous spirit of inspiration and understanding. One pleasing feature has been the fact that several families who have been on our list in previous years have come and asked for materials to make their own. And that’s the spirit our Circle has always tried to teach. Self-help is the best kind of help and, if materials are lacking, we have been able to give patches and things to help make a start. The display will commence next Wednesday morning, and I shall be happy to hear what you all think of it. Take mum along; ask dad to stop and look; see that granny sees it, and aunty and cousins, little sisters and big sisters. There’s bound to be a crowd, so I advise you to get there early. “ The Treasure Box,’’ Colombo Street, just north of Gloucester Street, on Wednesday morning. Treasures at the Treasure Box! With sincerest and happiest appreciation of the. work of little fingers and little minds- reaching out to wider and bigger ideals,—
