At Sunnvside cricket ground to-day, the Sunnvside and Shirley teams wore black arm-bands, in memory of the late Mr E. Barnes, for many years president of the Sunnvside Club. Mr Barnes, who'was head attendant, at the Sunnvside Mental Hospital, retired in February of this year. He was present at the opening of the match last week, and died suddenly on Satiirday night. His son, E. Barnes, is one of Sunnyside's most consistent batsmen.
