BLAZE AT BRIGHTON.

The* New Brighton Volunteer Fire Brigade received a call at 7.10 p.m. yesterday to a scrub fire at South Brighton. The outbreak was in a piece of land well covered with lupins and gorse between Pine Avenue and the foreshore. The brigade s prompt arrival prevented the fire spreading to many surrounding properties as a fresh wind fanned the flames and the undergrowth burned readily after the recent hot spell.
