Pests in Ranges.

'J'HERE has been a notable increase in the number of parrakeets and the imported rosellas recently in the Titirangi ranges. Formerly the birds were seldom seen, although they were occasionally heard in the less frequented parts of the bush, but now they are to be met close to roads and houses. Their bright colouring and cheerful notes add charm to the bush, but their presence is looked on with much disfavour by orchardists, a single rosella being capable, apparently out of sheer mischief, of stripping every bloom from a peach tree in a few minutes.
