Referring to the insurance of beach patrols, Mr A. I. Cottrell, the newlyj elected president of the Canterbury j Surf Life-Saving Association, expressed the opinion at the association’s annual meeting last evening that the insurance , companies were not meetihg the position. lie quoted the new rate of 60* per cent, with a minimum of £2. deeid ed upon by the Underwriters’ Associ- j * ation, stating that he felt the figures i I were ridiculous. The matter was dropped after one or two delegates had | stated that they would discuss the position with insurance representatives.
