SOUTH BRIGHTON GALA.

Mr F. Woodward presided over a meeting of the Committee of the South Brighton Gala. It was decided to ask the Prime Minister (Mr Forbes) to open the gala. The organiser, Mr H. Robinson, was allowed up to £ls for preliminary expenses. Mr Larcombe reported that programmes would be ready a fortnight before gala day. The Progress League is to be asked to place the galA trust moneys at the disposal of the Gala Committee. It was decided to hold a oneday gala. The New Brighton Council is to be asked to appoint a traffic inspector on gala day. It was also decided to ask the St John Ambulance to be in attendance. The next meeting was fixed for November 29.
