QUILLS ON ITS SKIN.
Sea Monster with Head Like a Horse. VANCOUVER, November 22. The dissected remains of a marine thirty feet long, resembling the sea serpent previously reported to have been seen in British Columbia waters, were brought to the town of Prince Rupert from near Porcher Island, to the southward, by Dr Neal Carter (Director of the Prince Rupert and Dominion Fisheries Experimental ! Station). Ihe body was decomposed, it being j impossible to preserve it intact. Red flesh indicated that it was a warm- ! blooded marine mammal. T he head was shaped somewhat like \ that of a horse, with tough, rough skin. The upper part of the skin had j hair and the lower part had quills like i spines. There were no bones of im- ! portance, except vertebrae. The body will be reconstructed as far as is possible.
