PARISH SOCIAL.

The St Saviours Parish Hall was filled to capacity recently when a social and dance was held to mark the conclusion of the celebrations of the fiftyseventh patronal festival. A feature was the beautiful decorations provided by Mr and Mrs Andrews. The vicar, the Rev E. C. W. Powell, spoke of the splendid response which had characterised all the festival services and gatherings. Other speakers were Dean Julius, the Rev N. Watson, vicar of Opawa. and Mr J. W. Salisbury, churchwarden. A concert programme was arranged by Mrs Stephen Parr under the leadership of Mr Roger Taylor. The artists were: Mrs Walter Harris, Misses Ormerod and Thelma Rickard, and Messrs R. P. Taylor, Russell Sumner, R. Lake and R. M’Cleary. The dance music was provided by Mr E. Judkins, and Mr Salisburv was M.C.
