Opening of the General Assembly. Per Press Association. * DUNEDIN, November 7. The Presbyterian General Assembly met in First Church, Dunedin. The building was crowded. The retiring Moderator, the Rev N. D. Scott, conducted service, and moved the Rev Principal Dickie’s selection as Moderator. Dr Dickie delivered an address on the present-day theological situation. Various committees were set up to expedite business. Prior to the opening of the Assembly past and present students met Dr Dickie and presented him with Moderatorial robes. Eloquent tributes to his work and loyalty to the Christian faith were paid by several speakers.
