AGRICULTURAL BILL.
Amendments Submitted to Coalition Caucus. (“ Star ” Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Coalition Party held a long caucus meeting to-day, at which Cabinet’s proposals for modification of the Agricultural (Emergency Powers) Bill were submitted. It has not \’et been ascertained which of the several alternatives to the original constitution of the Executive Commission was approved, but it is evident from the satisfactory' conclusion of the discussion that there has been a substantial change i this respect. The Prime Minister stated that the amendments would be circulated in due course in a supplementary’ Order Paper, but not before Wednesday, and possibly later, because, as he explained, there is a no-confidence motion before the House i n relation to the Native, administration, and the usual procedure is that while the Government is on its trial it makes no further 1 important decision until a verdict is given. ” The Opposition will have all the ! time it requires for the Native discusi sion.” commented Mr Forbes “If today is not sufficient, they can go on talking to-morrow.”
