BAND CONCERTS.

Allocation of Dates by City Council. The allocation of municipal band concerts for the ensuing season was decided upon at last evening’s meeting of the City Council, when the recommendations of the Entertainments Committee were adopted. The committee reported that applications had been received from the following: New Brighton Band. Woolston Band. Christchurch Municipal Band, Berry’s Military Band, Ist Canterbury

Regimental Band, Stanmore Silver Band. It was recommended that seven concerts be allocated to each of the first five bands and five concerts to the Stanmore Silver Band, the payment for each concert to be the sum of £5 10s. The committee also recommended that three concerts be allocated to the Caledonian Pipe Band, the payment to be £4 10s for each concert.
