HUNGARY FOR LOVE?
Premier Re-marries His First Wife. General Julius Gombos, the Hun* i garian Premier, was re-married the ; other day to his first wife. Margarethe Reichert, the daughter of a rich industrialist, from whom he was divorced ten years ago after she had borne him three children. The re-marriage took place on the 1 Premier’s estate at Nagy Tetenv, near ; Budapest. His best man was State Secretary Koloman Daranyi. Frau Elizabeth Gombos, the general’s 1 second wife, died in July last year as 1 the result of shock received when she i witnessed a melodrama in a Budapest | theatre fit-e years ago (writes the j Vienna correspondent of the London | ‘Daily Mail”). The sudden darkening of the stage, with the firing of shots, so affected Frau Gombos that she suffered a severe heart attack and lost the power of speech. After a few months she was able to speak again, but her heart was always weak. For the past six months General ■ Gombos frequently visited and recourted his first wife in Vienna. His intermediary in the first of such visits was his only daughter, whom he worshipped. For years a marble bust of his daughter occupied a prominent ; position on his desk.
