Grigg also was prominent and his speed was much admired. Major G. Hennessy and D. W. J Gould met all demands. South Australia A defeated Victoria B. Queensland defeated South Australia A. New Zealand and Queensland meet in the semi-final on Wednesday. The polo handicap matches begin on Wednesday and handicaps have been declared as follows: New South Wales .. 0 South Australia 4 * Queensland 4 New Zealand 5 South Australia B 9 Victoria A 14 Victoria B 18 Satisfaction with the New Zealand team’s performance was expressed today by followers of the sport in Christchurch. It was stated that New Zealand’s chances against Queensland in the semi-finals were bright, but they would have a more difficult proposition in the final, if, as expected, they beat Queensland. Members of the team were fit and well, and it was pleasing to see that Johnson had recovered sufficiently from an injury to the knee to allow of his impressing Australian critics.
