Lead ley, representing the Christchurch executive, were preThe object of the meeting was to consider the case of the New Brighton R.S.A. men on relief who have recently been placed on sustenance, strong exception being taken to the action of the Unemployment Board in ruling that all returned men with medical exemption certificates relating to work at Ashley camp were unfit for any further work under the No. 5 scheme. Messrs Drummond and Leadley said that after they had heard the full facts the New Brighton men could rest assured that the Christchurch executive would take up their case. It was decided to defer further action for one week, as further men are to be placed on sustenance.
