TROTTING NOTES.

The first race at Addington tomorrow will start at 11.45 a.m. The New Zealand Trotting Cup will be run at 1.15 p.m. to-morrow. ❖ ❖ * * Betting at Addington will be conducted on the single pool principle and two dividends. INVINCIBLE WAR BUOY, The unbeaten pacer, War Buoy, has received a good preparation for his race at Addington to-morrow, and it is not anticipated that the honour he holds will be wrested from him just yet. * * * * Garner is looking bright and bonny, and she has come through a thorough preparation for her Addington contests. She. will be one of the popular fancies for the Middleton Handicap tomorrow. In that race she is 24>'ds behind in a 4min 38sec class, and has won in 4min 28 l-ssec. That was at the New Zealand Metropolitan Club’s Easter meeting. On Saturday last she trotted two miles comfortably in 4min 34 4-ssec, and it is generally agreed that she is as well as ever she has been. AN ATTRACTIVE TROTTER. The American-bred mare, Nell Volo, has speed enough to win several races, but she is erratic at the barrier. It will be interesting to see how she behaves at the start of the Middleton Handicap at Addington to-morrow. The easy manner in which she trotted her second heat over a mile and a half at Addington yesterday in 3min 21 2-ssec, after strolling over the first mile in 2min 17sec, is evidence of her ability. To-morrow she is on 4min 36sec in a 4min 38sec class and she is a great stay.er. * * * * Harvest Child has been a model of consistency. He competed in a twomile and in a mile race at Oamaru, and was second in each event. Harvest Child has much creditable form to recommend him for his Addington assignments. A SPEEDY PACER. Tempest can be expected to show marked improvement during this season. He is in fine order and has the ability to win over all distances. He is freely engaged thi,s week. * * * * Cloudy Range is at the peak of his form, and he can be relied upon to race generously at the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting. His track work has been really good. * # * * Owing to unsoundness the best has not been seen of Louis Bingen. He must have the sting out of the ground, and should he get a track to his liking he will make the opposition sit up at Addington. IMPROVING. Don Chenault has done well on a ; short preparation, and such a reliable ! beginner and racehorse always has an | outside chance of picking up some of ! the prize-money'. lie is much better | now than when he raced at August. Raclaim is developing into a fine i ty'pe of mare, and she has become solid i with age and racing experience. She is a member of a family' that improves with racing and she is the kind that should do well at the Addington Carnival. FORM COUNTS, In the Waimairi Handicap at New Brighton last month Real Burton ran third in a two-mile race to Encounter. She paced the journey' in 4min 33sec off a 4min 40sec mark. Real Burton figures on the limit of the Riecarton Handicap to-morrow. On form Real Burton has much to recommend her. and in these races form is an essential factor. ❖ * * * The Auckland pacer Worthy Light has a wonderful record of twelve wins and two seconds in fifteen starts. lie is a perfect racehorse, and has succeeded over all distances. He should send his supporters home happy to- ( OMTNG RIGHT. Taxpayer showed much promise during the early months of last season, but he trained off at the November meeting. Since then he has received rest and treatment, and in his recent essays he has shown his old dash, and it is quite on the cards that Taxpayer will live up to the lofty reputation he enjoyed when he was a year younger. Peter Locanda is much in the public eye for Addington events, and he is being freely' mentioned for the Empire Handicap to be decided over one mile and a qtiarter to-morrow. In the Lincoln Handicap at the August meeting at headquarters he went from last to | first in the concluding three furlongs and breezed home at the head of his i field like a champion. That was a ten I furlong race ! TROTTING FIXTURES. . November 6, S. O—X.Z.M.T.O. November 22, 24—Forburv Park T.C. Nov. 30, Dee. 1-Winton J.C. December 1 Northland T.C. December I—Ashburton C.R.C.
