TRAM-CARS DAMAGED.

Collision Occurs on Papanui Road. Two tram cars were involved in a collision which occurred on Papanui Road between seven and (eight o’clock on Saturday night. The lights on a tram from Papanui had failed, and the driver was making his way back to the city, when another tram, coming in the opposite direction, ran through the loop near Bligh’s Road and crashed into the front. causing extensive damage. Visability was bad at the time, as rain was falling heavily. Repairs to the damaged cars were begun last night, and it is expected that they will be available for Show Day, when every tram will be needed.
