Radio Alignment.

Dear Sir,—Although I am not a certified radio operator nor have I any reason for defending the Broadcasting Board, can “Listener” explain the following. I have what is considered one of the very best sets in this locality, and it certainly is not out of alignment. I can get quite distinctIv and plainlv 2YA on 610 k.c. to 560 k.c.. also from 910 k.c. to 910 k.c.; 3YA from 1500 k.c. to 1350 k.c.. also from 750 k.c. to 690 k.c.: 4YA from 1155 k.c. to 1130 k.c.. also from 820 k.c. to 7SO k.c. 1 also agree with Mr Johnson that when 3YA increases its power it will be one set, one station. But that is evidently what the present board require. I am pleased to note that “ Listener ” admits that thfe “ roarer ” has had a good spin. As a world-wide traveller myself I have been several times around the world. I emphatically disagree that in many cases our programmes are superior to overseas programmes. As to the number of licenses proving that the public do not mind paying, evidently “ Listener ” fails to read the newspapers regularly or he would have noticed the enormous number of people complaining and protesting against the board's policy. The absolute mess that was made over the air race broadcasts was a revelation to the whole country. We got better and earlier news of the flyers and their whereabouts through the newspapers. The Australian stations and our own B class stations are responsible for the sale of sets which continue to be in demand by the New Zealand public in spite of the awful mess the YA stations are making | of things.— I am, etc., ALIGNMENT.
