Contests for Men of H.M.S. Diomede. At a meeting: of the committee of the Christchurch Sports Club last evening, Mr A. R. Harris presiding, the chairman announced that in view of the splendid response of the local amateur boxers to the invitation of the boxers i <>f H.M..S. Diomede to meet them in matched contests during the ship’s visit I ere, from November 12 to November 17. ample material was available for the staging of several first-class bouts.
