Mother of Five Smashes 83-mile Record. Per Press Association. HAMILTON, October 27. The women’s cycling record for the journey from Auckland to Hamilton, a distance of 83 miles, in ohr 38min. established by Miss \Tolet Baird in 1933, was easily shattered to-day by Mrs E. Harrison, of Auckland. who covered the distance in 4hr 22min. Mrs Harrison, who is twenty-eight years old. has a family of five children. She learnt to ride a bicycle only nine months ago. She will make an attempt on the Auckland-Wellington record on November 24.
