HOKITIKA COURT.

(Special to the “ Star.”) HOKITIKA, October 26. There was a short sitting of the Magistrate’s Court this morning, Mr H. Morgan, S.M., being on the Bench. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the case of the Commissioner of Taxes v. A. M’C. Nalder, £l4 9s 9d and costs £1 6s. A fine of £3 and costs was imposed on West Coast Motors for operating a car with defective brakes. Ross School Sports. An exhibition of hand work by the pupils was held at the Ross School yesterday afternoon, when an attractive display of articles was presented.
