ROUND THE DANCES
A “ capping- carnival ” dance will be held in the Scottish Society’s hall tonight. Novelties will be distributed. To-night the R. 0.1. will hold a dance in the Carlyle Street Hall. Bob Bradford and his band will supply the music for a dance at Frascati on Monday night. Novelties will be distributed. exhibitions will be given, and a comedian has been engaged to entertain patrons. The Sumner R.S.A. will hold its annual ball on Monday night. A late tram will bring dancers back to the city. On Tuesday the Christchurch-Corsair Social Club will hold a grand dance in the Railway Hall, Carlyle Street. Old and new dances will be played. The Kia Ora Club will hold its annual dance on Wednesday. The lanthe Orchestra will supply the music. A dance in aid of the Sunnyside Christmas cheer fund will be held at Sunnyside on Wednesday, October 31. The Bailey-Marston Orchestra will supply the music. The annual ball of the Hornby Rugby League Club will be held in the Islington Hall on Thursday. A dance and card evening will be held by the Canterbury West of England Society in the Orange Hall on Thursday. A cabaret dance will be held at the Winter Garden on Monday night. The Bailey-Marston Orchestra will supply the music, which will include all the latest numbers. The usual old-time dance will take place to-night in the Sydenham Hall. The second heat of the £2 2s Monte Carlo will be decided, and there will be four divisions. The Evans-Campbell Band will be in attendance. A big birthday dance is announced for next Saturday. To-night the Caledonian Select Assembly will bold a dance in the Caledonian Hall. Included in the programme will be old and new dances, a lucky spot and a cash miniature Monte Carlo. Supper will be provided free. The music will bo arranged by George Bradford. The Alexandra Hall management has arranged two special holiday old-time dances for the week-end. This evening the entertaining programme will include two cash Monte Carlos. On the evening of Labour Bay the annual “ Labour night ” dance will be held. Every year, for sixteen years, in various halls the Assembly has held a dance on Labour Bay, and to mark the occasion a “long night” carnival will be featured this Monday. All kinds of novelties will be introduced and the competition events will include a cash Monte Carlo, Argentine two-step, and old-time waltz contests. The Gymnasium weekly dance will be held on Tuesday in Mr C. Buckett’s gymnasium, Armagh Street., when Mr S. Humphreys will act as M.C. The music will be supplied by Mr F. Smith’s band. A feature of the evening -will be an exhibition of Spanish dancing by Mr and Mrs Humphreys. A holiday carnival old-time dance will take place from eight till one on Monday evening in the Caledonian Hall. The Evans-Campbell Band will providte the dance music and Mrs Creagh will play the extras. The lucky spot and Monte Carlo prizes are reserved seats for the Clem Bawe Revue donated by Messrs Kdgelv and Bawe. Mr Clem Bawe and party will be the guests of the management, and Mr Bawe will present the prizes.
