Somerfield Club’s Season Opens. The Somerfield Racing: Pig-eon Club opened its 1934 flying season with a race tdrds 1^. ajk i ol,ra t ® n Sunday last. Ninety were liberated by Mr W. H. Flower at 10 a.m. to a light south-easterly wind and with very poor visibility. Their journey homewards under adverse renditions resulted in only six birds homing oti the day, with the velocity slow. 1 hose members who timed in and the velocities were:— Yds. F. and K. Ockwell's King o’ the** r . Mist IT 871.64 Cooper and Henry’s Coop’s Hope 871.58 L. Ockwell’s Wise Guy 870.56 G. Fraser's White Fang 866.7 W . Ditfort’s Fling Wink 837.42 F. and S. Harrison timed in next at 7 P in. F. and K. Ockwell won the nominated bird prize.
