AMBERLEY HOUSE.

School’s Annual Sports Held. MANY VISITORS ATTEND. The annual sports of the Amberley Houee School were held at the school yesferday afternoon. Owing to the heaviness of the track and a strong northerly wind, times were not good. The arrangements were in the hands of Miss J. Baird, the sports mistress. The senior championship was won by Anne Hay, with 1!) points, and the runner-up was N. Newton, with 10 points. The junior championship was won by Barbara Thomson with 18 points, the runner-up being Paulin 1 © Turnbull with 9 points. The lower school championship was won by Jean Fraser with 18 points, the runner-up being Barbara Malden with 9 points. The House Cup was won by Rutherford House with a total of 205 J points on the combined results of swimming and athletic sports (athletic sports 1234 points). M’Kellar House gained a total of 161 J points (athletic sports 3.00 J points). Bagge Gathering of Spectators. A large .gathering of parents and friends thronged the sports field to witness the events. After the programme the visitors went over to the gymnasium, where the two houses, M’Kellar and Rutherford, held work stalls, and the old girls a sweets stall for the benefit of the school. During the afternoon garments made by the girls for charity were exhibited in the Al’Kellar common room. At the close of the meeting afternoon tea was served in the dining room, and the trophies were presented by Mrs H. Bruce (nee Rita Rutherford). The guests included:—Dr and Mrs L. A.
