JUNGLE THRILLS.

“ Tarzan and His Mate” Opens on Saturday. Warner Baxter, versatile screen lover, finds ample scope for his talents in “ Such Women are Dangerous,” which heads the current programme at the Regent Theatre. The yearning for adventure that is latent in every human being is given a thrilling expression in “ Tarzan and His Mate,” the jungle film continuing the experiences of Johnny Weissmuller and Maureen O’Sullivan in Darkest Africa. This new adventure thriller will open at the Regent Theatre on Saturday. Almost from the first scene there is a series of “ punch ” incidents to capture audience interest. Struggles between man and beast on land and in water are blended into one of the most powerful dramas of conflict ever screened. Johnny Weissmuller as Tarzan and Maureen O'Sullivan are again united in a jungle love story based on the famous fiction characters created by Edgar Rice Burroughs, that have been read by 15,000.000 people in English alone, with translations into fifteen foreign languages. Human drama in the picture is provided by a strong supporting cast, which includes Neil Hamilton in the role of Harry Holt, which he played in the highly successful “ Tarzan, the Ape Man.” Paul Cavanagh is a powerful and convincing “ heavy ” as a jungle explorer with a craze "for ivory. Forrester Harvey provides comedy as a cocktiey storekeeper; Doris Lloyd, William Stack. Desmond Roberts and Nathan Curry are outstanding in small roles. One of the big thrills of the picture is the film record of a terrific battle between Tarzan and a man-eating crocodile at a depth of 30ft. Box plans at the D.I.C.
