Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, October 1. The New Zealand amateur billiards championship began to-day. A. F. Vidal (Milton) 666 (breaks 35, 65. 42), heal J. Perrowe (Pembroke), 455 (20, 29). Vidal visited the table 119 times for an average break of 5.7, and Perrowe made 119 visits for an average of 4.07. H. Af’Lean (Christchurch), 666 (33, 4S, 55. 65),. beat E. N. Stewart, 534 (32, 40, 36, 37, S 4). M’Lean made 75 visits for an average of S.S7, and Stewart made 74 visits for an average of 7.21.
