ANNUAL SHOW.
St Giles’ Presbyterian Church. OPENING AT PA PANUI. The Papanui Memorial Hall presented a colourful scene this afternoon when the third annual spring flower show to lie conducted by the St Giles’ Presbyterian I’liurcli was opened by the president (Mr M. K. Lyons). Tlie entries numbered over 800, this being practically equal to the number of entries last year. There was a good attendance of the public. In declaring the show open, Mr Lyons congratulated the committee and exhibitors on their efforts in making the show a success. The entries were of a uniformly high standard throughout. The championship award In the amateur or novice dafTodil classes was won by Mrs E. Jerrard with a vase of three incomparabllis. Special exhibits of narcissi were shown by Sir R. Heaton Rhodes and by Messrs O. W. B. Anderson (patron), W. Baloh and G. Lewis. There was also a special exhibit of pot plants, including ferns and shrubs, by Mr A. V. Gibson. The Judges were: Daffodils, Mr W. Balcli; vegetables and cut flowers. Mr M. J. Barnett; decorative, Mr W. A. Erasmuson; children’s art, writing and drawing, Mr M. M’Leod; needlework, Mrs M. E.
