NEW CRUISER LAUNCHED.

United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, September 22. At Newcastle-on-Tyne the new Australian cruiser. H.M.A.S. Sydney, was launched by Mrs Stanley Bruce, the wife of the High Commissioner. Mrs Bruce said that a strong and efficient British Navy was the greatest insurance for world peace. Australia recognised that her own safety depended on the British Navy, but had done more for her own naval protection than any other part of the Empire, except Britain.
