Good Undartone on London Stock Exchange. British Official Wireless. RUGBY, September 22. The general undertone on the Stock Exchange is good and home industrials, notably motors and rayons, show ad-Gilt-edged prices made further headway, 3i per cent war loan advancing to £lO5 12s 6d, Consols, 4 p.c., to £ll3 12s 6d. and funding loan, 4 p.c., to £ll6 7s 6d, all new high records. A total amount of £65,585.000 was applied for in tenders for £40.000.000 in Treasury bills. The amount allotted in bills at three months was £33,000,000, the average rate per cent being 9/3.45d, compared with 10/5.61d a week ago. Sterling on New York opened at 4.99 dollars and on Paris at 74? francs. British Government stocks are firm, but German bonds were weak with sales at £53.
