MARSDEN OLD GIRLS.

Christchurch Ex-pupiis Organise Dance. BEAUTIFUL DECORATION'S. The dance organised last evening by the Canterbury branch of the Marsden Old Girls’ Association (Wellington) and held in the Canterbury Automobile Association’s rooms, was attended by old girls of many other schools. Large bowls of prunus blossom, vases • of daffodils and masses of greenery, with gay Chinese lanterns swaying overhead made a lovely setting in the hall. The arrangements were in the hands of the following committee members whose hospitality and care for their guests’ comfort went far towards making the dance the success that it has enjoyed in previous years: Mesdames D. Sinclair-Murchison. J. D. Hutchison, Misses Nancy Gard’ner, Egidia Menzies, Elisabeth Alpers, Githa Hand-Newton, Joy Nicholls and Betty Guthrie (honorary secretary). Music was supplied by Boi> Bradford’s Orchestra. Mrs Hutchinson’s frock of grape hyacinth-blue moss-creoe had a bodice of blue and gold brocade coming to a low point at the back where it was trimmed with a satin and brocade bow. Miss Gard’ner’s frock of black crepe was patterned in large white daisies. Miss Alpers wore a black georgette cape edged with a silver metallic fringe over her black georgette lrock. Miss Hand-Newtcn's ivory windswept satin frock was in off-the-shoulder style, with a wide draped sash tying at the back.
