Relegates have been reporting to their lodges on the half-yearly report issued by the Board of Management, and it ie iiideed pleasant reading. It is evident from the increase in cash sales that members are spending more in their own dispensary, following the policy laid down by the board when the accommodation and staff were increased m the .shop. Perhaps the increase in the number of prescriptions is to be regretted from the health of members’ point ot view, but the increase, which was over 3000 prescriptions on last half-years figures, proved the resources of the staff and the adequacy of the stock in the time of severe pressure. The hospital bed scheme showed a considerable reduction in expense, only 367 certificates being issued, the lowest for some years. The board recommends the levies to remain as at present, hospital (2s 3d and Is), dispensary (Is 9d and Is). Minor alterations to rules affecting time and place of meetings arc submitted for consideration. From the report it is gathered that a most satisfactory state • of affairs exists, and that the anticipation of increased turnover, as expressed at the November quarterly meeting, has been realised.
