MANY APPLICATIONS.

Position of Health and f Traffic Inspector. Thirtv-one applications were received by the Waimairi County Council for the position of Health and Traffic Inspector, to which Mr G. E. Stokes, of Hamilton, has been appointed. Ten who applied were without the necessary qualifications. The applications came from all parts of New Zealand, as far north as Whangarei and as far south as Invercargill. One was from J Australia, a Justice of the Peace. A i former constable was also amongst the | applicants.
