TEST AVERAGES.

Ponsford and Bradman on Top. O’REILLY BEST BOWLER. • Ponsford and Bradman with 94.83 and 94.62 respectively head the averages for all batsmen who took part in the 1934 series of Test matches between Australia and England. Next to them comes M’Cabe, with 60.36, and then the Englishman, Ley’land, with 59.42. Of the bowlers, the Australian spinner, O’Reilly, who took 28 wickets at an average cost of 20.49 runs, was the most successful. Close to him Were the Englishman, Verity, with an average of 20.50, and another Australian, Grimmett, with 20.66. Following is the list of the batting and bowling averages of both sides:—
