Common Decency.—Your letter would only* be an advertisement for the book. In any case it is libellous. “ Tiki. —The greenstone ornament known properly as a heitiki is claimed by the Maoris to be their own. It was brought to New Zealand by the Maoris. It can be traced through the islands and the Malay Archipelago to India, whence the Maoris originally came.
Dear Sir, —Could you or one of your readers please enlighten me on the origin of a badge or button which I have had in my possession for some years? It consists of a laurel wreath surrounding a button, on which is a crown, two bugles, and between these a monogram which looks like H.U.L. or H.U.I. Beneath this is the word Assaye ” and under that again an elephant. Outside this are six rectangular, checked “ raised bits.” The wreath apparently has been added, although I am not sure.—l am. etc., INTERESTED SCHOOLBOY.
