Extracts from Letters.

Listener-in writes:—Five hours have been taken off 3ZM’s weekly programme, because they catered for This is absolutely throwing the dirt, and rubbing it in, and it’s up to the public to show Mr Forbes and Mr Coates what they think of it. Disgusted writes:—To allow 3ZM to rebroadcast the Tests wag going to cost the country nothing and would give satisfaction to hundreds of listencrs-in. Tt is hard to understand why a body controlling the YA stations have not, themselves, the foresight to arrange such re-broadcasts from the YA stations, but when our own local “ Sunshine ” station has the goodness of heart to arrange this excellent broadcast it is promptly told to cease. The position is not so l>ad for the large set owners, those of seven valves or more, but what about the crystal sets or small valve set owners? “ Service.” in congratulating 3ZM, writes: It is to be regretted that these people should have been made the victims of a very pretty piece of the petty bureaucracy which has become, unhappilj-, all too prevalent in New Zealand and for which, in this case, it is difficult to attribute a reason, other than that of jealousy on the part of a large public organisation for a small private concern which has the initiative to supply a puhlic meed by giving a service which might, not unreasonablv, have been looked for from the Broadcasting Board itself.

“Crystal Set” writes: The Broadcasting Board seems to be envious of the popularitv of this station, which in more than one instance has shown the way to better ser30s.
