RAILWAY NOTICE. RACES AT TIMARU. SATURDAY, JULY 28, 1934. SPECIAL cheap excursion tickets to Timaru will be issued from Ashburton, Fairlie, Waimate, Oamaru and intermediate stations on direct line of route by trains arriving Timaru up to 10.47 a.m. on 28th July, available for return to 30th July, 1934. Tickets at special reduced fares will be issued to Timaru Racecourse by the 6.50 a.m. special train and 8.35 a.m. Express train (stopping stations only) on Saturday, 28th July, available from Racecourse to Timaru on day of issue and for return from Timaru until 30th July, 1934. as under:— From Christchurch 20/11 first-class, 14/9 second-class; Addington 20/9 and 14/7; Sockburn 20/2 and 14/3; Templeton 19/2 and 13/7; Rolleston 18/3 and 12/11; Dunsandel 16/2 and 11/6; Rakaia 14/- and 10/1; Chertsey 13/1 and 9/5; Ashburton 11/- and 8/-. TRAIN ARRANGEMENTS. On 28th July, special passenger train stopping if required at the above quoted stations and at Hinds, Orari snd Temuka only, to pick up passengers for Racecourse, leaves Christchurch at 6.50 a.m. and arrives Racecourse 10.53 a.m. The 8.35 a.m. Extrain ex Christchurch will stop at Washdyke and will connect there with Racecourse special. Return special train stopping at Washdyke to pick up passengers and making the same stops to set down as on the outward journey, leaves Timaru 5.45 p.m., Washdyke 6.0 p.m. and arrives Christchurch 9.20 p.m. Horses in “Ug ” waggons from Christchurch, Sockburn and Ashburton will be conveyed to and from the Races by the Special Trains.
