Arrangements for Y .W.C.A. Fair. The annual fair in aid of the Lyttelton branch of the Y.W.C.A. will be held in the Excelsior Hall to-morrow and Friday afternoon. The Mayor (Mr W. T.. Lester) will open the fair at 2.45 p.m. to-morrow. Billiards Tourney. J. Rudd won the flying fifty handicap billiards tournament played at the Lyttelton Club on Monday evening. J. Neville was runner-up. Lyttelton Swimming Club. At a meeting of the committee of the Lyttelton Men’s Amateur Swimming Club held last evening, it was decided to hold a “Hayseed’s Dance” on August 29, in conjunction with the annual presentation of trophies. Arbor Day. Arbor Day will be observed at Lyttelton on August 1. when children from the Lyttelton District High School and West Lyttelton School will undertake the planting of trees along Ticehurst Terrace.
