CAR OVERTURNED.

Three Men Suffer Minor Injuries. A heavy touring car was overturned in a collision in which three men suffered minor injuries yesterday afternoon. The car, which was owned by Mr D. Goldsmith, of 221, Madras Street, and was driven by Mr J. C. Wilson, was travelling north along Madras Street when it collided at the intersection of Canon Street, St Albans, with a motorcycle ridden by Mr A. C. Sparrow, of 74. Paclce Street. The car struck a telegraph pole and brought down several wires, wrecking itself in the process. The driver of the car was accompanied by Mr R. B. Murray, both of whom live at 271, Cambridge Terrace. The motor-cycle was not badly damaged. Fell From Horse. MASTERTON, July 24. A school boy named Alfred Houghton, eleven years of age, while riding home from school at Western Lake* Featherston, to-day apparently fell off his horse and was killed. He was found on the roadside dead. His father is employed by Mr Norman Matthews, sheep farmer, Western Lake. Condition Improves. INVERCARGILL. July 24 The condition of Dr R. Bums Watson, who was seriously injured when his car came into collision with a train yesterday morning, was reported to-night to have improved. He spent a fairly comfortable day.
