Mrs E. J. Parrott is the guest of her daughter, Mrs W. Macartney, Tai Tapu Miss Joy Rawnslcy, Innes Road, has returned from a visit to Decanter Bay j Mrs H. Morrison, Motueka, is staying with Mrs W. M. Cotter, Papanui Road. Mr and Mrs George' Vessey, Ashburton, spent the week-end with Mrs Owen Bishop, Southburn, Timaru. ! Mr and Mrs W. S. Newburgh, Murray j Aynsley Hill, returned yesterday from | a visit to Wellington. Mrs J. S. Neville, Sumner, who has I been the guest of Mrs 11. R. Sellers, Wellington, returned home yesterday. Mr and Mrs B. E. H. Whitcombe, Church Lane, Merivale, will leave this evening to visit Auckland. Mr and Mrs H. Rennie, Christchurch, are spending a holiday at Helensville, Auckland. Mrs Webb, Fendalton, left yesterday to visit her daughter, Mrs F. A. Raymond, Beverley Road, Timaru. Mrs C. J. Morrison, Cashmere Hills, returned home yesterday from a holiday spent in the North Island. Dr Florence Craig, of the Christchurch Hospital, will leave for Wellington on Saturday to visit her parents, Dr and Mrs G. Craig. Miss Margaret Caughley, Kelburn, will return to Wellington to-night from a visit to her grandmother, Mrs Alfred Evans, Aikman’s Road. Miss Meta Nixon, Fendalton, who was the guest of Mrs Bruce Murray, Braemar, is now staying with Mrs Colin Douglas, Waimate. Mrs W. B. Denshire and Miss D. Denshire, Jackson’s Road, who have been spending several months in Nelson, have returned to Christchurch. Mrs J. F. Studholme, Fendalton, arrived in Wellington yesterday, and will pay a brief visit to Mrs A. D. Crawford at Miramar before leaving for the north. Miss Brigit Gresson, Fendalton, and Mrs E. S. Johnstone, Trenholme, will be the guests of Mrs F. J. Rolleston, Timaru, for the Hunt Club ball and races. Miss Jean M’Rae, Waikari, who was staying with Mrs James Scott, Cannington, went yesterday to stay with Miss Ethel LeCren, Timaru, for the Hunt festivities. Miss L. D. Allen, who has been visiting Mrs J. G. Collins, Springfield Road, will leave to-night for Wellington. She will be the guest of Lady Chapman for a few days before sailing on August 4 by the Wanganella for Sydney, en route to Shanghai. In Shanghai she will visit her niece, Mrs Skinner, formerly Miss Iris Montgomery, of “ Wairewaj” Little River.
