Spirited Sale for Store Sheep. FAT LAMBS AT LATE RATES. The small yarding: of store sheep at the Addington stock market to-day had a spirited sale at values which, if anything, were slightly firmer than la*t week’s. Two-tooth ewes in a Jlna of 630 from Bouthbrtdge brought up to 38s. The fat lambs were generally lacking in quality, but the best of them Bold at slightly better rates. The fat sheep sale opened at last week’s level. The beef entry was a large one. and values were down by from 10s to 15b a head in the early stages of the Bale. Tat Lamba. The yarding of 300 fat lambs, as against 350 last week, included a large proportion of poor-quality stuff, anything approaching the condition required by butchers sold keenly at rates slightly better than those at the previous auction. Medium and secondary aorta maintained late rates. Top price of 28b id was secured for one sold on behalf of W. Stackhouse (Burnham). One from Teddington, on account of Mias A. Harris, made 27s 10d. and four from C. G. Jarman (Dnrfield) brought 2<>s 7d. Values were: Kxtra prime heavy lambs, to 28s Id. Prime heavy lambs, 24s 6d to 26b 6d. Prime medium-weights. 21s to 245. Had it not been for a line of about 650 ewes from one run near Bouthbrldge the store sheep entry would have been disposed of in a very short time. As it was the sale did not take long, and for practically every pen there was keen competition. The yarding was made up almost entirely of adult ewes in lamb, and considering the quality the prices received for them were very satisfactory. In the line from the Southbridge district there were 150 two-tooth ewes, and they met with a ready sale at 3*s. The four and six-tooths made 32s 6d, and 31s 3d was paid for 156 usefullooking fv'll-mouthed sheep from the same place. Only a few wethers were forward, the best price being ]7s 2d for a pen of 64 six and eight-tooths. Half a dogen three-quarter-bred wether hoggets brought 13s 7d. Values were:— Good two-tooth half-bred ewes to 38s. Medium four and six-tooth half-bred ewes to 32s 6d. Good s.m. half-bred ewes to 31s 3d. Ordinary sound-mouth half-bred ewes to 27s 3d. Full and failing-mouth half-bred ewes 21s 9d to 24s Id. Ordinary six and eight-tooth wethers to 17s 2d. The sales included:— Ewes: 152 four and five-year-old halfbred at 225, 89 falling-mouth half-bred at 12s, 25 failing-mouth half-bred at 12s lOd, 60 full and failing-mouth halfbred at 24s Id, 76 two-tooth half-bred at 38s, 74 two-tooth cross-bred at 3*». 146 four and six-tooth lialf-bred at 32s 6d, 156 s.m. half-bred at 31s Bd. 70 two, four, six and eight-tooth halfbred at 26s 9d, 73 s.m. half-bred at 27s 3d, 60 full and failing-mouth halfbred at 21s 9d. . Wethers: 64 six and eight-tooth halfbred at 17s 3d, 49 six and eight-tooth half-bred at 14s 9d. Fat Sheep. The yarding of fat sheep was ly larger than last week’s, and Included some fair to good quality. The sale opened on a basis of last week s rates.
