ITALY’S DECISION.

Bans Export of Arms to Warring Nations.

British Official Wireless. (Received July 24, 2.30 p.m.) RUGBY, July 23.

Sir John Simon announced in the House of Commons that he had iust learned with great satisfaction that the Italian Government had now informed the president of the committee of the League of Nations that it will enact the necessary measures to prevent the export of war materials from Italian territory to Bolivia or Paraguay. “ There is now reason to hope.” said Sir John. “ that all the other Govern* ments who accepted the League’s proposals in principle will take the necessary steps without delay.” Sir John Simon said that so far as he was aware the only Governments who had up to the present been actively preventing the supply of arm* to the belligerents were the British, United States. Danish, Dutch and Swiss Governments.
