BAER AND CARNERA.
Heavy-weight Boxers in Film for Majestic. “No More Women” (Edmund Lowe and Victor M’Laglen), a bright comedydrama. heads the attractive bill of fare at the Majestic Theatre this week. The fact that Max Baer, of California, recently defeated Primo Camera, the giant-like Italian boxer, in a bout for the world’s heavy-weight title, should hold special significance for Majestic Theatre patrons. Baer is the hero of “ Every Woman’s Man,” which comes to the Majestic on Saturday. In this film the present champion fights a drawn match with the Italian. For realism and excitement the fight must rank as one of the best pieces of screen work seen in a long time, for, in spite of its inconclusive result, it lacks nothing in authenticity. Boxing enthusiasts will naturally find the picture greatly to their liking. It does not however, depend on its pugilistic interest for its appeal. It has other attractions in plenty. A reasonably probable story, finished acting by a splendid cast and excellent direction suit the film to a wide taste and make it a worth-while entertainment for the majority. Baer, appearing chiefly because of his prowess as a boxer and because he was regarded as Camera’s logical American challenger, displays a most acceptable talent as an actor. The supporting cast is headed by Myrna Loy, who plays with her usual confidence and sincerity. Box plans at the D.I.C.
