TWO GOOD PICTURES.
“ The Poor Rich ” and “ 42nd Street.”
Excellent entertainment is provided this week at the Crystal Palace Theatre, the featured a tt: actions being “ The Poor Rich ” and “ 42nd Street.” Edna May Oliver and Edward Everett Horton could make any picture funny, and when they have a vehicle of the quality of “ The Poor Rich ” they are at their best. Their expressive faces, inimitable gestures and general carriage need no words to give meaning to their acting, and the clever dialogue of “ The Poor Rich ” gains amazingly by their presentation of it. “ 42nd Street,” with its host of now famous song-hits, its extravagant dance ensembles and the wealth of its acting talent has attraction for everyone, and can be as easily enjoyed at the second time of seeing as at the first. Warner Baxter, Bebe Daniels, George Brent, Ginger Rogers, Ruby Keeler, DicK Powell and dozens of other favourites are in the cast
