The visitors were entertained at a social at Technical College last evening, games, dancing and items being enjoyed by about 120 pupils of the two colleges. * Dr D. E. Hansen recalled that it was the fifteenth year the tournament had been held. The colleges had never worried about who had won the matches. The most important thing was the number of fine friendships formed. He was sure it was a new experience for some of the Dunedin pupils to come to Christchurch, for he knew it was a new experience for some of the Christchurch boys and girls to go to Dunedin. He had also found that it produced, a fine spirit of friendship among the members of the staffs. L. Simpson, head boy of tlie Christchurch Technical College, expressed his pleasure at th*e opportunity of renewing old friendships. He regretted that the weather had been so bad. but was sure that it had had no great effect on the pleasure of the tournament. A. Maxwell, captain of the visiting Rugby team, expressed pleasure at having had the opportunity of coming to Christchurch. Although the weather had been unfavourable for good football, he could only say that the better team had won. He expressed, on behalf of all the visitors, his gratitude for the kindness of the hosts, and looked forward to 1935, when the Dunedin players would have an opportunity of repaying the many kindnesses shown. Air A. G. Fleming, who was in charge of the Dunedin teams, said he was full of gratitude for the many kindnesses extended to the Dunedin players. He especially mentioned Mr G. M. Keys. Items were given by Messrs Kidson, Rogers. A. G. Thompson, A. G. Fleming, Alisses Edna Henderson, Norma Smith and Olga Miller. Mrs A. G. Thompson and Mr Noel Newson played the accompaniments. .
