Many Guests Accept Novel Invitations. BANK STAFF HOLDS DANCE. j Invitation “cheques” were “cashed” on the Bank of New Zealand last night at the Winter Garden, where the staff ' held their annual dance. The number lof guests was large, despite the cold j weather, for the bank’s dance is always j a well-organised and popular gathering. The guests of honour were Mr P. L. | Porter, manager, and Mrs Porter, Mr H. E. Garth, assistant manager, and ! Mrs Garth. Mrs Porter wore an attractive frock and matching coatee of opal green chiffon velvet, the coatee being designed with wide cape sleeves. Mrs Garth was in prune embossed velvet, the dccolletage being outlined with gold sequins and cream net. 1 The members of the organising committee were :—Miss Edna Cowen, who wore a frock of peach-tint crepe satin, digaonallv tucked, the neckline falling into a softly draped cowl, and Messrs C. L. Bason, C. E. Ayers, F. C. Milne. J. T. Hobbs, 11. E. Garth (honorary treasurer) and W. M. Rumbold (honorary secretary). Music was supplied by the BaileyMarston Orchestra.
